SaxTeacher UK provides saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano and jazz lessons in South East London and online.
SaxTeacher UK is the trading name of Tom Harrison, a sole trader, who is the data controller responsible for the information described in this policy.
If you have any question about this policy or about how your information is handled, email is the fastest way to reach us.
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, the instrument or lesson type you’re interested in, and your message.
The form emails these details straight to us. It does not store them in a database or build a profile — your message simply arrives in our inbox, the same as if you had emailed us directly.
Why: To reply to you and, if you go ahead, to arrange lessons.
Lawful basis: Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch.
Our newsletter form asks for your first name and email address.
Why: To send you new transcriptions, lead sheets and tutorials.
Lawful basis: Consent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason.
We keep a record of pupil names and the dates of lessons taken. We do not record ages, addresses, progress notes, medical information or anything else in this record. Contact details for current pupils remain in our ordinary email correspondence.
For payment we issue invoices settled by bank transfer, or take payment in cash. An invoice records a name and the amount due. We do not hold card details, and there is no payment system on this website.
Why: To deliver and bill for lessons.
Lawful basis: Performance of our contract with you, and legal obligation for the financial records we are required to keep for tax.
We teach children as well as adults. Where a pupil is a child, we deal with a parent or guardian, and arrangements are made with them.
We deliberately keep the minimum: a child’s name and the dates of their lessons, and nothing else. We do not add children to our mailing list, we do not use their information for marketing, and we do not share it with anyone.
If you are a parent or guardian and would like to see, correct or delete what we hold about your child, email us and we will deal with it promptly.
Our host, One.com, keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. This is ordinary technical operation rather than tracking, and we do not use it to identify you.
We do not run any analytics or advertising tracking on this site.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. The only third parties involved are the services that make the site work:

Because Mailchimp, YouTube and Google are based in the United States, subscribing to our mailing list, playing the embedded video or loading the map involves a transfer of information outside the UK. Those transfers rely on the safeguards these providers have in place, including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, for example to comply with a court order.
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Almost every video on this site is a still image that links out to YouTube, rather than an embedded player. Nothing is loaded from YouTube unless you choose to click through, and at that point you are on YouTube’s own site under their privacy policy.
Two pages are exceptions. Our saxophone breathing tutorial embeds a single video using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no tracking cookies unless you press play. Our saxophone lessons page embeds a Google Map showing where we teach, and Google may set cookies when that map loads.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Nothing on this site needs cookies in order to work.
