Linger Awhile was composed by Vincent Rose, with lyrics by Harry Owens, published in 1923 as a standalone Tin Pan Alley song rather than for any stage show. In 2022, young jazz vocalist Samara Joy released her second studio album, titled Linger Awhile after this very song, which appears as its title track.
